Color those tresses...

Colored hairDull boring black hair is out. Hair colors, highlights are the in thing today. But wait, there are some important things that you must know before coloring those tresses...

Just don't pick any color. Your hair color should suit your skin. Avoid shades of red and gold, if you have pink skin. Ash tones will suit you better. Deep reds will suit you if you have sallow complexion. But avoid yellow, gold or orange tones. If you have pale skin, any hair color will suit you.

Highlights look good only if you have long or medium long hair. Opt for full color if yours is short hair. Highlights will last upto 2-3 months, whereas all-over coloring will need to be touched up every 4 to 8 weeks.

Colored hairIncase after coloring your hair you don't like it, then go back to your stylist. There are number of ways in which this can be fixed. If you have colored your hair on your own and you don't like the way it looks then use shampoo, to wash the color.

Always rub Vaseline around your hairline before coloring your hair. Rinse your eyes with water if color gets into your eyes. Wear gloves and wrap an old dark-colored towel around your shoulders. Be sure and test the color first before applying.

As after care for colored hair, use color-enhancing shampoo & conditioner once a week. These products deposit miniscule amounts of color into hair.
