Hey I'm 19. Last night my boyfriend and I had sex. I insisted on using protection, but he said that he'll pull out before he cums. I believed him. Now I fear pregnancy. Are there any chances that I would get pregnant? Is it true that he would actually be able to pull out in time?
Well, this is a little tricky. Will he be able to pull out in time or not depends on his control on his organs. But as a fact, the very popular "withdrawal method" is the least reliable. If you're trying to curtail pregnancy, the pull out technique can't be the sure-shot way.
To begin with, getting carried away in the heat of the moment is very natural. You really can't be sure whether he'll be ready and alert enough to pull out during the intercourse. Also, the moment the penis becomes erect, it ejaculates a sticky fluid known as the "pre-cum". This pre-cum also contains sperms other than the final ejaculation. You must know that it takes just one sperm to fertilize the ovum and cause pregnancy. So you cannot trust it to be the safer banking. In addition to this you may run the risk of catching a few STI's.
So next time your guy assures you that he would hold back, though he really might, think twice before you give into the moment.
