The hand bag mania seems to have gripped the citizens. There are plenty of varieties available for every occasion. Right from the big bags with jazzy designs to the darling little clutches, everyone seems to be making a beeline to lay their hand on one.

They have become the must-haves for every young girl in the city nowadays. If you are out with your girl gang; you will notice that every one of them is drooling over the bags displayed at the window of any retail outlet. Otherwise, they are busy showing off their new hand bag recently added to their collections. Those huge bags which are usually for daily use. Ochreyellow, maroon and brown coloured bags are a big rage.

They look like pure leather bags but are originally plain cloth. Also, the dazzling ones are a hit, with those diamond and squares shaped mirrors on them. Sonali Khivshara, a Vashi resident said, “Not only do they look good and chic, but also they are very convenient. It is just one thing and I’m sorted. I can just dump my stuff in it and not worry about it. Next day when I pick up my bag I know that all my belongings are in it.” She further said that these bags were anytime better than those jholas our mothers used to carry.

Medium-sized hand bags also have big varieties to offer. The ones with maximum number of pockets or big metallic buttons or swanky chains are loved. One generally ends up buying mobile carry bags with these. The corduroy and leather bags are the most famous amongst the youth. For the cell phone carry bags’ the embroidered bags are preferred. Sangeet Krishnan, a Sanpada resident adores clutches.

She says, “Clutches are sleek and look elegant. They are simply feminine. I generally carry them while going for parties or weddings. My silver clutch stole the show during my last Saree Day in college. It looked perfect with my pink saree.” She advises any one and every one to own at least one of those graceful purses as an appropriate addition to the fashion accessory.

Mikdad Kutubuddin Farhulla, proprietor of Penguin Bags, Vashi, said, “Big shopping bags are definitely in nowadays. Especially the ones with the antic accessories like rings, big buckles, chains. While clutches were in huge demand during the past marriage season.” Having minimum two types of the bags are must have for the youngsters, they are more like a necessity than a luxury.

And why not, these bags are durable and they look stylish and trendy. Youngsters today lead an active social life and so one bag will definitely not do for them.
