Hot shots!Vikram Bawa’s secret fantasy
Vikram has tried to capture the concept of- bondage—a male fantasy— in this picture, which he shot for a glam magazine. The model in the picture is the Brazilian Bruna Abdallah.
Vikram says, “Most men have dreamed about a sexy woman tied up before them. I’m glad that I was able to capture the right expression of the model, which was not sleazy but rightly sexy. Bruna has given a natural pose.”
The shoot, which took 12 hours to complete has been taken in a single spotlight with 50 mm wide angle lens. The shutter speed is 2.50 and the aperture is 5.6. The camera used is Hasselblad 39 megapixel. The styling for the shoot was done by Priyanka Karunakaran.
Rafique Sayed’s hidden sensuality
Parted lips, stretched arms, pressed bust and a silhouetted body—but barely any skin showing. When Rafique Sayed clicked this picture he was very clear about aesthetics.
He says, “I wanted to take a picture that looked sensuous and at the same time beautiful to be placed in a living room. It’s a picture that will not hit you in the eye. It’s not sexy. The charisma of the picture is its concealed sensuality.”
A scrim cloth separates the model in the picture from the observer. It’s difficult to judge whether the model is naked or has her clothes on. Sayed however, does not reveal the identity of the woman.
Rakesh Shrestha’s raw appeal
Rakesh feels that this picture with model-actor Sonal Chauhan has a fresh sex-appeal. He says, “This picture depicts vulnerability. Her expressions are raw. I wanted the picture to have a conservative sex-appeal. The bare skin is only adding to the chemistry between the girl and the mind of the observer.”
The picture was shot for promotional purposes in Rakesh’s studio with a single spotlight. Sonal was too conscious to pose without make-up. So, the initial few snaps were taken with make-up but they didn’t look good with the water effect. Sonal was later coaxed to shoot without make-up. The camera used was Canon Mark II with 85 mm portrait lens.
Akash Shrivastava’s bold sexuality
“She comes down like rain. Smiles, and then ignites a fire with her looks.” This phrase perfectly describes the theme of Akash’s picture.
The picture was taken for fashion designer Kaushik Srimankar for a garment exhibition in Dubai last year. Rain was chosen as the theme to create wet fantasies in dry Dubai. Akash says, “The picture is making a bold remark about a woman’s sexuality. The model, Tanya Soni is not at all apologetic about her sensuality. It is straight in the face.”
Unfortunately, two suitcases full of designer garments were stolen, a day before Akash’s shooting. Eventually, the designer’s leftover fabrics with jagged ends were used as dupattas and sarongs for Tanya. The camera used was Hasselblad 39 megapixel with shutter speed being 130th of a second with an aperture of 4.5. The styling was done by Sandhya Shetty.
