I eat my lunch early: Sushma Reddy

Sushma Reddy, Model

Height: 5 feet 9 inches

Weight: 62 kgs

Breakfast: I have 5 soaked badams, a lot of fruits and fruit juice till noon.

Lunch: I eat my lunch early, before one. I have a glass of raw beet and amla juice, a bowl of salad, brown rice along with dal, 3 vegetables and yoghurt Mid Meals: Believe it or not, but I don’t snack at all in between my meals!

Dinner: My dinner is not as healthy as my lunch, but I have a strict policy of not eating too late. I indulge in fun food like pasta or pizza along with salad if I’m at home, but I do tend to go out a lot for dinner.

Twice a week or so, I give into temptation and have a piece of chocolate or chocolate cake.

Allergic To: Loads of stuff - protein (that’s why I can’t have meat, eggs, fish, etc). I’m vegetarian, not out of choice, but because of health reasons. I’m also allergic to caffeine. I avoid drinks like Red Bull, etc.

Exercise: I love walking and go for a brisk walk at least thrice a week. Besides that, I do power yoga and go for outdoor hiking trips that I thoroughly enjoy.

Recommendation

Lunch: Eat the fruits and make fruit smoothies instead of fruit juices so that the fibre remains. As you enjoy fruit juices blend them in the blender instead of the juicer.  Coconut water can also be sipped. Dinner: Fun food too can be made healthy whether at home or out. Start with a vegetable based soup followed by side orders of steamed, grilled assorted vegetables.

Ask for whole grain pastas tossed in healthy sauces like Arrabiata sauce or pesto with lots of vegetables. One does not need meat or egg protein to be healthy. Fortunately you do have curds which takes care of Vitamin  B 12  in the body. You need to add walnut, flax seeds, sunflower paste so that you get Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids. Sunlight and plenty of water will help digestion.
